A circle closes
by Rolf Thärichen

When I returned from my first solo trip to Ireland in 2018, one thing was clear:
I would explore this fascinating country every year.
The coronavirus pandemic threw these plans into disarray.
Many people found themselves endlessly pondering the question, “What will I have to give up from now on?” and sometimes I felt the same way.
But soon another question came to the fore: "What is really important to me, what do I urgently need to do?
The answer slowly emerged from the uncertainty: artistic work.
Well roared, lion! It then took another three years and encounters with many wonderful people to
- create this website
- create my first works of art
- participate in an exhibition for the first time (April 2024, Dunoon, Scotland)
- present my first solo exhibition (Metamorphoses, March 2025, Murnau)
- ...
Many of my thoughts are based on the experiences I had on my subsequent trips to Ireland.
And so it is time for a tribute.
