New views and insights

by Rolf Thärichen

A visual impairment that had worsened over the years was becoming an obstacle to my work. So I decided to have cataract surgery on my left eye.

Since then, the world is looking  through my eyes in a different way.

The right eye used to be the sharper one and therefore the "leading" one when focusing and especially when taking photographs. This task has now been taken over by the left eye. As a result, the right side of my brain is also being used in a new way. I am curious to see if and how the view through the camera viewfinder will change.

It is not only the perception of the external world that has changed during the healing process. The inner world of feelings, thoughts and impulses to act also changes as new connections are made in the brain.

seeing more clearly - feeling more clearly - thinking more clearly - being more clearly

We will see ...
